    Timetable and Confidentiality

Interviewing for this survey began on Thursday September 13, two days following the tragic events. Responses to the survey will be kept strictly confidential. Respondents will NOT be identified in published results and no one other than a small group of NORC research staff will have access to identifying information. Responses to survey questions will become part of a large, anonymous dataset that will be analyzed to yield statistical summaries.

Initial summary results are now available. An extensive report will follow, documenting the response at the national level, and comparing it with responses in New York City; Washington, DC; and Chicago, Illinois. Comparisons will be made with results from the 1963 Kennedy assassination survey and from the General Social Survey (GSS), as well as from other data available to the public.
