What is Making Connections?
Translations for this page available for download

Six years ago, the Annie E. Casey Foundation began Making Connections, an effort to demonstrate that kids benefit when their families are strong and their communities supportive.

Specifically, Making Connections seeks to help strengthen:

  • Economic opportunities for families in neighborhoods;
  • Social networks that link residents to one another and connects neighborhoods to opportunities outside their boundaries; and
  • Helpful services and supports that all families need to successfully raise their children.

The Making Connections initiative is a centerpiece of the Foundation’s work, and the Making Connections survey is a key piece of this initiative.

So then, why is it important that you participate in the Making Connections Survey?

Your responses to this survey are a critical part of Making Connections. Your opinions matter to us and your neighborhood and will continue to help shape the Making Connections initiative. This survey will provide local residents, organizations, and officials with the information they need to improve your neighborhood and strengthen local families.

If your household is selected to participate, one of our field interviewers will contact you. We hope you will say "yes" and complete the confidential interview.
