About NORC

NORC has conducted more than 1,000 studies on such topics as
  • What school children have learned by the time they finish eighth grade
  • How Americans pay for health care
  • The advantages and disadvantages for young children of having a mother who works outside the home
  • Americans' attitudes toward government spending for defense, education, and aid to the poor
  • Whether drug treatment programs work
  • How older Americans cope with the problems of aging
  • What people want for their communities
NORC carefully selects study participants (known as "respondents") to create representative survey samples that can be used to help shape future public policy in the United States. NORC respondents answer the survey questions completely and honestly, and, in turn, their views are compiled along with those of other respondents to develop the survey data and results.

To maintain the integrity of its random selection and overall survey process, NORC does not accept unsolicited requests from individuals who are seeking to be included as a respondent in any of the NORC surveys.

If, however, you have been contacted by NORC to participate in a survey as a respondent, and you have any questions or concerns about your selection, please contact:
